The Piano Quartet comprises the following three movements:

Poco allegro: like a recitative and aria in which the piano is the soloist

Vivace: a lively and playful scherzo in which a faint reminiscence of Sibelius might be heard

Andante tranquil: a gentle rhapsody which could be suitable for a warm summer evening
