Six Preludes for piano completed in 1970 and were specially written for Rhondda Gillespie, who has performed them in many parts of the world. The Preludes were conceived as brief character studies, the first vigorous and the second lackadaisical, the third and fourth together as a ponderous introduction to an impertinent scherzo, the fifth dreamy, like a misty autumn landscape, and he last a robust and energetic dance.

Prelude No. 4 is published by Bosworth in the Composer Series 3 - Intermediate Piano Collection ed. Richard Deering, 1996
